...for school to start! After spending four days at the beach with my two teenage daughters, I can understand why the females of some species eat their young! I have not heard so much moaning and groaning since, well, the last time I took them somewhere! They had to argue about everything...where to eat, what to do, what not to do...EVERYTHING! The last night the younger daughter kicked the older out of bed to go sleep on the couch...it seems she kept kicking her sister...in the head...while she slept...or tried to sleep. They drive each other nuts but they are inseperatable most of the time. They are only eleven months apart...people have often thought they are fraternal twins. When they are both complaining about something their voices form a cacophonous pitch that is almost identical....like the deafening whine of two jet airplane engines. These waning days of summer will soon be gone...and I will miss spending time with them. When they are not being moody, sullen teenagers, they are really fun to be around. Last night we set our alarm clock to get up at 2:00 in the morning to watch the lunar eclipse...there is nothing like standing in the yard in your pajamas in the dead of night observing one of nature's incredible shows to really make you wish the dog days of summer could last forever.
